Nyingma Summer Seminar

Teachers: Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, Dungse Jampal Norbu, Elizabeth Mattis-Namgyel

In this 9 day annual summer seminar that Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche has likened to our community’s “Thanksgiving,” we gather to listen to, contemplate, and practice the teachings of the Three Yanas of Tibetan Buddhism. The Three Yanas – Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana – encompass the entire path, from the Four Noble Truths to the Sacred World of the Vajrayana. The programs takes place outdoors under a large tent on the grounds of our center in Ward, CO, where a schedule of meditation, teachings, and social interaction provides a wonderful environment to appreciate our great fortune together as a sangha.

During the Mahayana section Rinpoche will teach on, “The Mind Training in Eight Verses,” by the great 12th Century sage, Geshe Langri Thangpa. These eight verses cover in condensed form the essence of the Mahayana teachings known as lojong, and form the basis for a compassionate and wise approach to all life situations.
