DESCRIPTION

Feminine wisdom or prajnaparamita in Sanskrit is considered the very foundation of all the teachings and practice lineages of the Buddha. You might say that such feminine wisdom is the very heart of awakening, offering us insight into our mind, reality and our relationship to the world around us. But how can the prajnaparamita teachings help us engage the challenges of the modern world? – especially during these times of rapid social change, technological innovation and cultural upheaval? During this presentation and discussion, Elizabeth Namgyel will present how the Buddhist path offers the opportunity to examine our lives gently and wisely and release the liberating insight of prajnaparamita.

It is with great joy that we would like to introduce the Teaching Panel for the 2022 Auckland Buddhist Summer School. We have the great fortune to feature and welcome back for another year some of most engaging and vibrant Teachers we have had the great fortune of hosting. We hope you enjoy looking through the program and we look forward to seeing you online or at Nyima Tashi.

This year most courses will be run via Zoom as many Teachers are located internationally and are unable to join us here in New Zealand. Though, we feel very fortunate to announce that we will have Professor Edwina Pio from the Auckland University of Technology teaching in person at the Centre in 2022.

Nyima Tashi will be open for the duration of the Summer School and we will have a screen set up in the main Gompa for anyone who would like to join in person (pending any limits on gatherings at the time). It will be summer and the doors and windows will be open. You can enjoy the garden on the breaks between sessions and wander down the road for a coffee.

This year, we are so pleased to have online registration and booking payments available through www.nyima-tashi.org.nz. It’s never been so easy to purchase a ticket to single or multiple sessions in advance. Any students joining via Zoom will need to pre-purchase their sessions.
