Hi Everybody,

I hope this finds you all well, and that you have a way to rest at ease, even in these turbulent times. I send love and well-wishes to everyone.

Like you, I am engaged in the practice of social distancing, as an expression of the love and respect I have for my community and the world at large. I am finding that this love presents itself in the most practical of ways. Today I had to go to the store. Before I entered, I put on my hand sanitizer. I was motivated by the care I feel for everyone in my community, and I felt the tenderness and warmth of that care. When I left the store I put on more hand sanitizer as an expression for the respect that I have for my own wellbeing, and out of the care for those I have yet to directly or indirectly connect with. Someone might touch the surface that I just touched, and this could have a profound effect. That really illustrates the power of the nature of interdependent relationships!

I guess under ordinary circumstances, talking about hand sanitizer would sound a bit extreme, but anything motivated out of sheer care, is protected from being too neurotic. Right now, I am thinking of hand sanitizer as a tool of love.

I am also seeing how important it is to simply sit quietly and breathe! I think many of us, who do meditation practice are used to this kind of stillness. However, I’m sure it can be scary for those unaccustomed to just staying at home. As much as we can just relax our mind and encourage others to do the same, that much we will be able to respond to our situation with kindness and clarity. Stay safe and let’s stay in touch online. ❤️❤️❤️
